In the fourth trip out of five inside the Anaconda-Pintlar Wilderness during the winter of 2006-2007, I made the summit of West Goat Peak, via East Goat and Saddle Mountain. The summit was supposed to be one half of the entire trip, while the second half was the crossing of the APW at Rainbow Pass. That didn't happen and this story shows why.
