In a crossing of the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness of Idaho and Montana, a snow bridge made the fording of Big Sand Creek easy. Though this crossing had been made by me many times over the years, it was a first to accomplish the task bone dry. On trail during the summer this location is approximately 2.5 miles west and downstream of Big Sand Lake. I arrived here at the end of Day-Seven on a double winter crossing of the wilderness.
