In Montana’s Blodgett Canyon of the Bitterroot Valley: the boulder fields are blanketed with a winter snowpack, creating a different beauty of this very popular summertime canyon. In addition, the fields are easily navigable, once there is a solid snowpack base on them. This photo was taken during a four day scouting trip of the canyon for an eventual double crossing of the wilderness later that winter.
