This snowstorm scene is in the lower meadows of Elk Summit in Idaho’s Clearwater Forest, on the edge of Idaho and Montana's Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness. I had crossed the wilderness at Blodgett Pass and was struggling north 22 miles to Highway 12 and Lochsa Lodge. As of Day-Twelve I had gone a total of two days without snowfall. One of those days, the first day out of Blodgett Campground, it rained instead.
