After the summit of West Goat Peak (10,793 feet) the highest in Montana’s Anaconda-Pintlar Wilderness and during the descent, the clouds suddenly lifted above the spot I was on. I was treated to a temporary view of the Lost Lakes Basin area. Moments after photographing this scene the clouds again buried the view. I reemerged from the clouds again and again, all the way back to a socked in camp below East Goat Peak’s (10,399 feet) summit some hours later.
